Food Technologies Division
General Information
History:
The Department of Food Technologies was established on a specific date with the aim of training experts who produce advanced knowledge and technology for the food sector. Since its establishment, the department has aimed to keep up with technological developments in the sector and has carried out important projects and achieved success in both national and international platforms. It continues its development by establishing close ties with the sector, especially with projects carried out in areas such as food safety, sustainable food production and new technology applications.
Department Program Outcomes:
Graduates of the Food Technologies program gain comprehensive knowledge and skills in food science, technology applications, production processes, quality management and innovation. After graduation, graduates gain the competencies of analysis, advanced technology applications, quality control, sustainable production and bringing innovation to the sector. These program outcomes have been developed in line with the educational objectives of the department and ensure that graduates are equipped with competencies that are fully compatible with the needs of the sector.
Language / Type of Education:
The Department of Food Technologies provides education in Turkish and the type of education is formal education. The program is suitable for both local and international students and appeals to students from various cultures. Depending on the language of education and student profile, bilingual course options or special content for international students may be offered.
Infrastructure Facilities:
The department offers students a comprehensive technical infrastructure. Education and research activities are supported by well-equipped laboratories, food analysis centers, quality control units, production application workshops and advanced technology devices. Thanks to this infrastructure, students have the opportunity to develop their theoretical knowledge in practice and graduate more prepared for the sector by actively participating in various projects.

Double Major/ Minor Programs
Double Major Program: It allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in a field they are interested in, in addition to their primary field. In this program, students can complete courses in two different fields and earn a diploma in both fields.
Minor Program: It allows students to take a certain number of courses in a field they are interested in, outside of their major. Students who complete a minor program are given an official certificate in that field; however, this does not mean they have a second bachelor's degree.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university in Turkey or abroad for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.
